FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
RENTON, Wash., December 19, 2019 — Lightel Offers GPST-1100 Fiber Coating Stripper Solution
Based on our Gliding-Plasma Stripping Technology, Lightel has developed the GPST-1100 stripper for easy stripping of optical fiber coatings. Offered as an enhanced version of our GPST-1000, the GPST-1100 allows the stripping of multiple fibers simultaneously (up to 5) on almost all types of fiber coatings, including the most stubborn ones such as carbon or polyimide. This unit supports both end-stripping and window stripping with adjustable stripping lengths. The strip is clean with sharp edges and its non-contact process eliminates the risks associated with chemical stripping and blade-based mechanical systems. An optional mechanical stripper is offered to remove secondary coatings (high-power optical fibers often have multiple protection layers) prior to GPST operation. As a solution provider, Lightel will help create stripping recipes for different fibers according to specific customer requirements. The GPST-1100 is expected to be released and in full production in Q1 2020.
Incorporated in 1999, Lightel Technologies was founded to bring advanced optical components, and equipment to the optical communications, aerospace, and sensor industries. Lightel maintains its headquarters in Renton, Washington, with additional manufacturing facilities for high volume, cost sensitive production offshore. Our products are sold worldwide, with distributors in key locations to offer the best customer services possible.
Since the initial passive component product development, Lightel has emerged as a technology leader several key product areas, including Fused Biconic Taper (FBT) coupler workstations, a full line of FBT components, Thin Film Filter (TFF), and other micro-optic components, video microscopes for inspection, cleaning, test and analysis.
