Lightel now provides a variety of Mode Field Adapters (MFA) for use in high power fiber laser and fiber amplifier applications. These devices can be used to connect two fibers with different core diameters and numerical apertures (NA). Their performance is superior when compared to traditional fusion splices which incur higher losses and degrade the quality of the output beam. Lightel’s MFAs utilize mode field optimization technology to obtain high transfer efficiency and low beam degradation.
