FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
RENTON, Wash., March 3, 2020 — Lightel Offers Photonic Assemblies for Medical Applications
Fiber optics has a number of attributes that make them ideal for medical applications. Optical fibers are immune to strong electromagnetic fields and resistant to ionizing radiation and high temperatures. In addition, optical fibers are lightweight, flexible with small form factor and can be made to be chemically inert and non-toxic so that they can be used in the human body.
Lightel now offers design and manufacturing services of fiber optic and electro-optic assemblies for medical applications. Lightel can design the assembly from a set of requirements or manufacture from a customer print. Lightel’s capabilities include fiber optic module and system design and fabrication, component selection and qualification, and photonic assembly (photodiodes, laser diodes, electronics). Examples of our assemblies include dental hand pieces, sensors, optical amplifiers, and instrumentation modules.
